  Actuellement, la Belgique dispose d'un nombre restreint de lieux de cures tant curatives que préventives. La suppression du remboursement des frais de cures par les mutuelles a aussi causé une perte de curistes "nationaux". Les centres encore ouverts proposent, à ceux qui disposent de moyens financiers suffisants, une série de "cures courtes."

KNOKKE "La Réserve" est un hôtel de luxe + un centre de thalasso dont l'organisation a été complètement revue en 1998. On vient "prendre les eaux" à Spa depuis le XVI siècle.         Les Thermes de SPA sont parmi les plus connus du monde thermal. Ils eurent leurs heures de gloire au XVIIIe lorsqu'un grand nombre d'illustres personnages (les "Grands" d'Europe) s'y donnaient rendez-vous au "Café de l'Europe." Depuis plus de 75 ans, la Cie Fermière des Eaux et des Bains de Spa -- SPA Monopole -- gère l'établissement et le met au service de la communauté. Les thérapies mises en oeuvre aux Thermes reposent sur l'utilisation conjointe de trois éléments naturels heureusement complémentaires : l'eau de la source de la Reine (Spa Reine), les eaux ferrugineuses carbogazeuses et la tourbe des Fagnes.    One has come "to take water" with Spa for the XVI century. Après une longue période de léthargie, Chaudfontaine renoue avec la tradition thermale au Château des Thermes.     Quatre espaces constituent la base technique actuelle = le "Thermal" au multiples bains, celui voué à la remise en forme, un autre encore pour votre beauté et enfin celui destiné aux séminaires à double options.    Premier temps, l'espace technique est actif et le logement des "curistes"*** est essentiellement dévolu aux hôtels de la localité. Très bientôt, les infrastructures internes de logement (Huit suites !) permettront de se rendre, sans aucun obstacle, de la chambre aux lieux de soins sans passer par l'extérieur. C'est une question de patience à courte échéance.
